Weeds begin to pollinate in July and continue through mid to late November,
when a frost or two ends the pollen season until next year.
Weeds such as Ragweed, Pigweeds, and Nettle pollinate in late August.
A few weeds actually pollinate in the spring and these include Yellow
Dock and English plantain.
The misery index hits it's high for the year in August and September
when warm season grasses and the late summer weeds flower. By October, the
pollen counts begin to drop rapidly as weeds pass their peak flowering season.
For allergy sufferers, the first killing frost is a blessing. | |
